Bullets For A Cause

Hand Crafted Artisan Bullet Jewelry

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter the words, but to live by them.” — John F. Kennedy

Coming from a long line of military service members and veterans,

Double F Mercantile co-founder, Jess was inspired to make each bullet count. As a prominent featured artist, she brings a unique design style by mixing jewelry media with spent ammunition. Every piece is hand-crafted and is a stand alone "one & done" creation made to connect meaningful art to a meaningful movement.

U.S.VETS

Today in the United States, more than 32,000 veterans experience homelessness.

It’s an unacceptable reality driven by poverty, an affordable housing crisis, lack of stable employment and challenges with physical and mental health in civilian life.

U.S.VETS develops leading-edge programs including a focus on camaraderie to support post-9/11 veterans, older veterans and women veterans, meeting them where they are to help rebuild hopeful futures. The organization was founded by veterans to serve fellow veterans and is the leading nonprofit dedicated to the work of helping veterans and their families transition from homelessness through tailored support to help them gain independence.

For more than three decades, U.S.VETS has led the way in helping veterans get off the streets while pioneering proven models to prevent homelessness. As the largest nonprofit organization with boots on the ground to combat America’s veteran homeless crisis head-on, U.S.VETS serves more than 20,000 veterans and families every year, providing intervention and prevention services including housing, employment assistance, mental health care and suicide prevention, and aftercare and peer support. U.S.VETS was founded in 1993 by the late Judge Harry Pregerson to address the growing number of unsheltered veterans living on the streets of Los Angeles. Starting with one site in Inglewood, California, U.S.VETS has expanded to 49 residential sites with 189 programs nationwide and four signature Veterans Connection Hubs, which foster hope, dignity and stability.

The Local Impact

Since 1997, U.S.VETS Houston has served thousands of veterans with transitional, emergency and permanent supportive housing; mental health and substance use treatment; supportive services for veteran families (SSVF); case management; and career services.

U.S. Vets Houston provides comprehensive services for veterans at Veterans Village in the Willowbrook area, opened in 2023 after a full-scale renovation of a former hotel now equipped to house 130 veterans. Veterans may also access a service center on Griggs Road, right outside the VA Medical Center. U.S.VETS Houston is proud to have contributed to the reduction of veteran homelessness in our community, propelling Houston to be among the major metropolitan cities in the U.S. with one of the lowest rates of homelessness and a model nationwide.

Double F Mercantile is joining this mission by contributing
